Why Cybersecurity Basement?

As a child you hardly dare to go down the stairs, as an adult you don't want to go up at all. Basements have something magical, natural and real about them. You do things there that wouldn't make sense in other places. There's the basement of horror, the basement of terror, basement pubs, basement parties - ghosts, spirits, monsters, endless stories.
What's it about?
Our basement is about cybersecurity. That's fitting because the topic has similar connotations. Some celebrate it, some don't want to look at it and don't dare to tackle it. Some think of the horrendous costs. Viruses, Trojans, the biggest business risk of our time: it can be scary. That's why we're sitting here. In the basement. Where the topic is often buried or hidden, and we are lifting it from the basement to the upper floor. We put it in the front door so that nobody can get past it. After all, cybersecurity is a competitive advantage in today's world and is essential for minimising risk. It makes a major contribution to the sovereignty and resilience of the German economy.
Is there a mission?
We want to educate. We want to create understanding, provide solutions. To provide educational content. From the basement - for the gallery. So that in the end cybersecurity can take its place on every management agenda. Then our job is done. Oh yes, and "Basement" just sounds cool!
