Fully booked, full of energy, informative and entertaining: the first post-pandemic it-sa is over - what a trade fair! With 693 exhibitors from 29 countries, over 15,200 visitors on site in Nuremberg and more than 1,800 online participants, it-sa 2022 built on its previous success story and turned Halls 6, 7 and 7A and the it-sa 365 dialogue platform into the "Home of IT Security" for three days.

"I can already say that it-sa was a complete success. We made a great impression at the trade fair as one of the market-leading cybersecurity providers in Germany and are already looking forward to next year's it-sa!" Andreas Papadaniil, CEO suresecure GmbH

The range of products and services at Europe's largest trade fair for IT security includes holistic as well as specific and customised solutions for preventing cyber incidents and covers the entire spectrum of cybersecurity products and services: hardware, software, awareness training, consulting services, security services and much more. Important topics at it-sa this year included cloud and mobile security, data and network security as well as securing critical infrastructures and Industry 4.0. And thanks to us, visitors also had the professional and main contact for IT emergency management directly on site, represented by a total of 26 employees from various business units of suresecure and securance. Our Senior Key Account Manager Marko Schurig said: "it-sa was an incredible success for us! I was no longer able to speak after the 3 days, I had so many great conversations at the trade fair!"

IT emergency management - our speciality!

Our suresecure team presented itself together with our sister company securance in hall 7 at stand 121 as a specialist unit for IT emergency management - and was once again able to demonstrate this expertise on a total of 28sqm2 of exhibition space, highly motivated and in numerous exciting discussions - in fact, the whole team was hoarse afterwards.

"Finally, it-sa in 2022 for real again! And what a trade fair: Intensive dialogue and lots of follow-up appointments covering the entire spectrum from prevention and emergency management to security on the hyperscaler platforms. We are thrilled and are already looking forward to it-sa 2023 - thank you for three extraordinary days at the trade fair!" Tobias Heidrich, Director Sales suresecure GmbH

The freely accessible lecture programme provided visitors to it-sa with the latest specialist knowledge and the most advanced insights in the industry. On the first day of the trade fair, our Director Security Consulting Thomas Günther immediately took the floor and gave a gripping presentation in Knowledge Forum D in Hall 7 at 11 a.m. on the insidious process of a successful cyber attack and gave the audience a small, premature Halloween shock when he made it clear that attackers have usually been working in the respective IT system for around 180 days before they are noticed for the first time. Fortunately, he was able to calm the audience down a little with the help of lovingly designed slides - and immediately afterwards he spoke to some experts from the industry about the fact that his presentation "Tactics, defence and cyber defence" was able to explain the respective risks in a practical and easy-to-understand way and provide helpful recommendations for action. At this point, we would like to emphasise once again: prevention is the key!

During Thomas Günther's presentation, one of our very special guests also made himself known to the audience - our dedicated pickpocket Giovanni Alecci, who painfully and ingeniously showed various visitors that they can be robbed and defrauded quickly, easily and completely unnoticed in their personal presence.

Trends and insights from it-sa 2022

Happily, our emergency cards do exactly what they are supposed to do: they give people an immediate sense of security that they will never lose. With this robust and simple emergency chip card - which comes with a clear message, a direct contact person, a 24/7 emergency number and an emergency email address and can be stored directly in the wallet - people immediately feel much better prepared for the worst case scenario, and they are!

Cyber insurance was completely underrepresented - except at the suresecure X securance stand. This again clearly shows us that, on the one hand, there is still a lot of work to be done to raise awareness of the fact that cyber insurance not only covers a residual risk, but is part of a good IT security concept from the outset - and, on the other hand, that we are on the right track and uniquely positioned.

This year, the topics of cloud security, endpoint security, automation processes and the increasing role of artificial intelligence in cyber security have crystallised. The topic of IT emergency management plays a major role in all of this - but we already knew that beforehand ;)

The loud buzzing that could be heard throughout the trade fair was probably not from a huge, untamed swarm of hornets, but from the Hornetsecurity stand, which had its own VIP lounge, presentation stage and bar, as well as its own go-kart track! It wasn't just us who were speechless, I suspect.

The specialist presentations were not quite as well organised. The programme booklet raised some questions, the public forums were not well signposted or visible and therefore not so easy to find (or on time). The acoustics also left much to be desired in many cases. In my opinion, however, the content of the presentations was superbly selected and well presented.

Good prospects!

"After two years, it-sa 2022 was once again a special experience. It has once again made it clear to us that the topic of IT security moves many people and is becoming increasingly important in our daily lives. We also realised that many companies are no longer looking for classic AV protection. There was much more demand for a holistic approach," says Baran Kamaci, Key Account Manager at suresecure GmbH. With all its impressions, it-sa has once again made it clear to us how important it is to protect companies from cybercrime in these times - and that our mission to make the digital world a safe place is of great interest and even greater importance. One thing is certain: the suresecure X securance team will also be represented at next year's it-sa and thus at the "Home of IT Security" in beautiful Nuremberg - the stand has of course already been booked!
